PRP Facial with Microneedling in Beverly Hills

PRP Facial with Microneedling in Beverly Hills & Los Angeles

Written and medically reviewed by David Nazarian, MD, board-certified internist · Providing PRP therapy in Beverly Hills since 2008 · Last medically reviewed: October 2026

Our Beverly Hills clinic provides physician-supervised PRP facial treatment with microneedling for selected patients throughout Los Angeles. Patients considering treatment usually want to know whether PRP adds value beyond microneedling alone, how much downtime to expect, how many sessions may be appropriate, what results are realistic, and what treatment costs. These points are reviewed during consultation before a treatment plan is recommended. Treatment is individualized based on skin concern, skin type, medical history, and realistic goals.

A PRP facial combines microneedling, which creates tiny controlled channels in the skin, with platelet-rich plasma from your own blood to support collagen production. It is used primarily for broader skin-quality goals such as texture, fine lines and selected surface irregularities. Acne scarring is a separate, more diagnosis-specific concern; patients whose main goal is acne-scar treatment should see our dedicated PRP for acne scars page. Most people need 3 sessions about 4 weeks apart, and results build over several months. A single session is $900; the $450 consultation is credited toward your first treatment.

Who May Be a Candidate for PRP Facial with Microneedling?

PRP microneedling may be considered for selected patients seeking improvement in skin texture, fine lines, selected acne scars, or overall skin quality. It may be less appropriate with active infection, uncontrolled inflammatory skin disease, significant bleeding risk, certain medications, or when another treatment better matches the concern.

PRP Microneedling Near Me: Beverly Hills & Los Angeles

Patients searching for PRP microneedling or PRP facial treatment near Beverly Hills or Los Angeles can be evaluated at our Beverly Hills office. The consultation focuses on whether PRP microneedling, another resurfacing treatment, injectables, skincare, or a different approach is more appropriate.

How does a PRP facial work?

Microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries that stimulate a wound-healing response. PRP is sometimes applied during or after treatment as an adjunct. Small clinical studies suggest that combining PRP with microneedling may improve selected outcomes, particularly for atrophic acne scars, but results vary and the evidence is not uniform across all cosmetic indications.

What does the research show?

The strongest evidence is for atrophic acne scars. In a split-face study, the side treated with microneedling plus PRP improved more than the side treated with microneedling plus saline (Asif et al., Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, 2016). Evidence for general skin rejuvenation is promising but comes from smaller studies. See our PRP for acne scars page for more detail.

What to expect at your visit

  1. Consultation and skin assessment.
  2. Blood draw: we draw 4 tubes of blood per session and process the sample to prepare platelet-rich plasma for the planned treatment.
  3. Numbing cream is applied for about 30 minutes.
  4. Microneedling with PRP applied to the skin; additional PRP may be injected into specific areas.
  5. Your skin will look pink, like a sunburn, for 1 to 3 days.

Aftercare

  • Avoid makeup for 24 hours and strenuous exercise for 24 to 48 hours.
  • Use gentle cleanser and moisturizer; avoid retinoids and acids for about 5 days.
  • Use sunscreen daily.

Recovery, Risks and Side Effects

Redness, mild swelling, pinpoint bleeding and dryness are expected and usually short-lived. Less common risks include infection, breakouts and pigment changes, particularly in patients who are prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Active skin infection, uncontrolled inflammatory skin disease, and current or recent isotretinoin use should be reviewed during consultation before microneedling is considered.

Cost

  • Consultation with Dr. Nazarian: $450 (credited toward your first treatment)
  • PRP facial with microneedling (face or acne scars): $900 per session, or $2,400 for 3 sessions

Emerging Regenerative Approaches in Skin Rejuvenation

PRP and PRF use a patient’s own blood-derived components and are established parts of this clinic’s regenerative-aesthetic approach. Exosome-related signaling and cell-based therapies are also being studied in skin repair, collagen biology, and aesthetic medicine, but evidence and regulatory status vary. They should not be presented as proven replacements for PRP, microneedling, or other established treatments. Learn more in our physician-reviewed resources on exosomes and regenerative medicine and stem cells and regenerative medicine.

Any regenerative approach should be considered in the context of the patient’s skin concerns, medical history, realistic goals, and the quality of supporting evidence.

Frequently asked questions

What is a PRP microneedling facial?

A PRP microneedling facial combines microneedling with platelet-rich plasma prepared from your own blood. The treatment is used to support skin-quality goals such as texture, fine lines and selected acne scars after individualized evaluation.

How soon will I see results?

Early changes in skin texture or brightness may be noticed within a few weeks, while remodeling continues over the following months. The degree and timing of improvement vary by indication, skin type and treatment plan.

How long do PRP facial results last?

There is no single duration that applies to every patient. Improvements may persist for months, but PRP does not stop skin aging and maintenance treatment may be considered depending on response and goals.

Is PRP better than microneedling alone?

Microneedling alone is an established resurfacing approach for selected concerns. Adding PRP has shown potential benefit in some studies, especially for atrophic acne scars, but it is not clearly superior for every cosmetic indication. The recommendation should depend on the concern, evidence, cost and patient preference.
