PRF EZ Gel is a platelet-rich fibrin preparation made from a patient’s own blood and processed into a thicker, gel-like material. Some clinicians use it for selected under-eye and facial concerns. At our Beverly Hills clinic, treatment decisions are based on anatomy, skin quality, volume loss, medical history, alternatives, and realistic expectations. Evidence for PRF-based aesthetic treatment is still developing, and results vary.
Schedule a consultation to discuss whether PRF, PRP, filler, laser treatment, surgery, or another approach is more appropriate for your concern.
PRF EZ Gel is prepared from a blood draw using centrifugation and controlled processing that produces a thicker autologous material than standard liquid PRF. It is different from hyaluronic-acid dermal filler and from conventional PRP. Preparation methods can vary between systems and practices, which is one reason published outcomes are not uniform.
Patients often search for PRF EZ Gel for under-eye hollows, skin quality, and dark-circle appearance. The best treatment depends on the actual cause of the concern. Pigment, vascular visibility, structural hollowing, fat pads, skin laxity, and bone structure can all contribute and may require different approaches.
PRF-based under-eye treatment may be considered for selected patients with mild textural change, early volume-related hollowing, or skin-quality concerns when anatomy is suitable. It is not appropriate for every cause of under-eye darkness or hollowness. Significant fat prolapse, marked skin laxity, pigment disorders, vascular causes, or structural volume loss may be better treated with another option.
Liquid PRF is an autologous fibrin-rich preparation injected while still liquid. PRF EZ Gel is processed to create a thicker gel-like consistency. Hyaluronic-acid filler is a manufactured injectable gel with different physical properties, reversibility characteristics, and an established evidence base for selected indications.
No option is universally better. Choice should depend on anatomy, treatment goals, risk tolerance, prior procedures, and the clinician’s assessment.
Treatment generally begins with a medical and aesthetic evaluation. Blood is drawn and processed according to the preparation system being used. The resulting PRF material is then placed in selected areas using an injection technique appropriate for the anatomy. Treatment time, number of injection points, and whether other procedures are combined vary by patient.
Research on PRF for facial and under-eye rejuvenation is growing, but studies remain relatively small and preparation methods vary. Evidence specifically for PRF EZ Gel is more limited than for established treatments such as hyaluronic-acid fillers. Patients should be cautious about claims of guaranteed correction, permanent results, or predictable volume enhancement.
When improvement occurs, the degree and duration vary. Aging, anatomy, skin quality, and the underlying cause of the concern continue to change over time.
Temporary swelling, bruising, tenderness, redness, or asymmetry can occur after treatment. Less common risks may include infection, nodules, vascular injury, prolonged swelling, or an unsatisfactory cosmetic result. The under-eye region requires careful technique because of its anatomy.
Patients taking aspirin, NSAIDs, anticoagulants, or antiplatelet medications should review them with their clinician and should not stop prescribed medication unless the prescribing clinician says it is safe.
Cost depends on the treatment area, preparation method, number of sessions, and whether another procedure is recommended. PRF EZ Gel under-eye treatment is $1,500 per session at our Beverly Hills clinic. A 2-session package is $2,700, and a 3-session package is $4,050. Package pricing reflects a 10% discount compared with purchasing the same number of sessions individually. The number and timing of sessions are individualized based on candidacy, treatment goals, and response; not every patient needs a package. Final treatment planning is individualized after evaluation. For broader pricing information, see our PRP and PRF cost guide.
There is no single established duration. Results vary with anatomy, preparation, treatment area, and individual response, and the evidence base is still developing.
Not necessarily. PRF EZ Gel and hyaluronic-acid filler have different properties, evidence, limitations, and risk profiles. The more appropriate option depends on the patient’s anatomy and goals.
The number of sessions varies. Response should be evaluated before recommending additional treatment rather than assuming a fixed series is appropriate for everyone.
It may be discussed when dark-circle appearance is partly related to skin quality or mild hollowing, but it will not address every cause. Pigment, vascular visibility, shadowing, fat pads, and structural anatomy should be evaluated first.
